Summer Nights Blog Hop

The Grand Prize Is A Kindle Fire HD 7”. Second Prize Is a 100.00 Gift Card to Amazon or B&N. Plus books to go on the winner’s new Kindle. Sorry, to be eligible to win the grand prizes you must be a resident from Canada or the United States.
Hello, and welcome all to my site. So glad you made
it. So, let’s get started.
When Carey asked me to join in this blog hop, the
first thing that popped into my head was a couple lines from an old Honeymoon
Suite song: Hot summer nights. Storms
clouds in the air. My eyes felt so heeeeavy...LOL, I can’t remember any
more of it. I think the title is New Girl
Now, but don’t quote me on that. I could look it up, but I’m lazy, lol.
So, enough of this crap. Let’s move on and get down
to business—to why you’re here. You are busy and have a lot of stops to make to
ensure you win the grand prizes—which I are listed above. I’ll leave a list of
other daily prizes to be won at the end of this post.
Today I’m going to talk about my paranormal romance
novel, Love’s Prophecy. It takes place in the summer, and man, some of the
scenes are definitely sultry!
So, without further ado, I’ll leave you with a small
excerpt. I kept the scene clean—no sex, lol. I decided to showcase a scene
where the two main characters—Mel and Breeana—take a stroll through the
beautiful gardens at the Base on a sultry summer evening.
Love’s Prophecy:
Breeana
stepped out onto the veranda and her breath caught. “Oh, my God! The gardens
belong in a fairytale.”
Mel
stood beside her. He had seen the gardens a million times, but had never given
much thought to them. Flowers bloomed everywhere, filling the night with a riot
of color and sweet perfume. Pots filled with large ferns adorned every corner
on the veranda and two urns, overflowing with brightly colored petunias, were
placed on either side of the opening to the stairs leading down to the yard.
He
let Breeana take the lead. She stopped, standing on the circular driveway and
glanced over her shoulder. “The house is beautiful, but this,” she held her
arms out wide, twirling in a circle, “is exquisite.”
He
tried to imagine seeing the grounds through her eyes. He was struck by how
picturesque it all was. The driveway meandered down until it came to a wrought
iron gate standing twelve feet high with tall spikes gracing the top. Beyond
the manicured lawns and many flower gardens, the wrought iron fence proceeded,
surrounding the half-acre property. A dense forest made up of pine, cedar, fir,
and maple trees went on for miles until it met the gravel road.
Breeana
slipped her hand into his, lacing their fingers.
They
wandered down a brick path flanked with LED lights, and glowing white daisies.
Moonlight bathed the path in a soft gray light. The large trees lining the
fence sparkled with thousands of twinkling lights, like stars that had fallen
and gotten tangled in their branches.
Breeana
bent and picked a daisy. She plucked the petals off one by one. “He loves me,
he loves me not.” She laughed as she glanced at him. “Did you ever play this
game when you were a child?”
“What
game is that?”
“You
pick the petals off a daisy saying, he loves me, he loves me not. When you come
to the last petal, it tells you whether or not he cares about you.”
“Does
it work?”
“Honestly?
I don't know.” She pitched the flower and clasped his hand again.
I
love her. How can I let her go?
The
day she left would be the day his heart would wither up and die. Yet, she was
too good for the likes of him and his world was no good for her. And because he
loved her, he would let her go.
My
question to you all is, have you ever taken a moonlit stroll through a garden?

Thank you, Jessica for stopping by. Gardens are so beautiful on a warm summer evening.
Thinking of moonlight walks, I once took a long walk on a Hawaii beach with a guy I met there from England. English accent, sand, waves, moonlight...oh, yeah. :) Thanks for the giveaway!

And it was a moonlit horseback ride in the hills with the Hubs, not a stroll through a garden. It sounds more romantic than it really was.

A moonlit horseback ride does sound romantic, but since I know what horses are like...lol, yeah, I'm sure more attention was paid on the horses than romance, hehehehehe.

Sue, so do I. If you have white flowers planted in your garden, they glow at night. Also, I find some flowers give off such a beautiful fragrance at night--maybe to attract nocturnal bugs.
Thanks, Amanda.
One day I will take a stroll along the beach in the evening.
Thank you, Nancy.
I love the moonlight as well.
Thank you, Eva for stopping by and posting a comment!

I can't remember taking a moonlit stroll through a garden, but I've taken a moonlit stroll through a park with beautiful flowers, or through an immaculately groomed yard with exquisite flowers in the South, which I suppose would be considered a "garden" elsewhere in the world. Thanks for the giveaway. michelle_willms@yahoo.com
I have never taken a moonlight stroll through a garden - not got any gardens nice enough.
