A blog
about...well, nothing really
Hello everyone. Been a while
since I've blogged. So long in fact, I
can’t remember when the last time was.
I'm not really a prolific
blogger, which is fine by me, and probably by you too, lol. There are many
awesome blogs and bloggers out there, but ain’t one of them—and yes, I said
ain’t, lol.
Why am I blogging today? Glad
you asked me that question. And the answer is, I don’t know. Oh, BS. I’m
blogging today because I have something to say. The real question is, do you
want to read it, lol? Ah, sure ya do. You never know what tomfoolery may come
out of my mouth. Like this next tidbit I’m going to waste your precious time
telling you.
As some of you may know, I’ve
been working full time as a painter with my husband. The trades are a male
dominated profession for sure. One of the drawbacks to being a woman on the job site is the porta-potty—not sure of the spelling, buy I’m sure ya get the
jist of what I mean. I detest those
temporary bathrooms—outhouses. I can’t even step in them. The very air you
breathe is a poisonous fume, full of waste particles. LOL, a little Lord of the Rings humor.
(This is not the type of painting I'm doing)
(Or this)
(Or even this)
So, what’s a woman to do? I
head to the nearest restaurant. Public toilets and I aren’t on much friendlier
terms, but I have to pick the lesser of two evils or my bladder may burst. And
besides, I hover like a boss.
I can fit in with the guys at
work pretty well. I can handle their jokes about women and sex, but I can’t use the
porta-potty, or even breathe the foul air. Forget it, man. Ain’t happening.
Now that I’m working outside of
the home, what does this mean for my writing? Well...I’m not getting much of
that done lately. Sad but true. Who knows? You all may be saying, Thank God. LOL, well don’t get too
excited. I will be back! I will write another book! See if you can stop me.

Actually, I had thought of
leaving writing behind. Life got in the way, and I can’t ignore it anymore.
Have to step up to the plate and take care of a few things—like helping keep
the family biz afloat. LOL, yeah, like whether or not the biz stays afloat
really rests on my shoulders. Hehehehe, makes me feel good thinking it does.
But after a massively stressful
day yesterday at work, I did a little more soul searching. I’m not okay with
hacking writing out of my life. I like it—it makes me happy. So you know what? I decided there will be
room enough in my life for work and my writing. I hope you all are as thrilled
with this news as I am.
So, looks like book #4 in the
Prophecy series is back on. I’ve even got the black moment almost figured out.
See? Painting and writing can fit into my life. I do a lot of thinking and book
plotting while I’m slapping paint on the walls.
I’ve even come up with a title
for the next book. Prophecy’s Language.
LOL, I know what you’re
thinking. You’re thinking: what a weird title. But once you read the story,
you’ll see it actually fits perfect.
Well, that’s my big spiel for
the day, month, maybe even year.
Rock on, and read books. And
remember, books are food for the brain.
Do a brain good. Read a book.
Oh, and I would like to give a shout-out
to my friend—who just so happens to be one heck of a talented author—Lisa
Kumar. Thanks for your friendship and support—and for letting me rant your ear
off on occasion.
